The lively Brick

Art by: Joseph Wright (1734-1797)

A static bliss astonished the knight
A candle lit
A timeless story
Told in the manner of glory
From a lively brick over the years
Centuries passed of pain and fears
Still yet stood the statuette
And from the ashes and the dust
Brought to life by lavish lust
To tell a tale of a past unjust
The knight looked eager and all ears
To the crouching Venus in her tears
