Layers of a Dream

Art by Tom Sierak

In waves the layers compose the dream
One for the other in static flare
That brings forth the tone of a concealed theme
Though often an intent to linger aware
And whilst the times go by in stream
And muddy steps weigh heavy
The worries will pause to redeem
So the dream is no longer cloudy
And light is hurried like a strike of beam
There will come a haven for the mind’s own
As what was felt then will never again seem
Maddening sorrows tightened and sawn
Yet all is solved with words to write
The pledge that turned the clown into knight
